"Digital Marketing Strategies for Small to Mid-Sized Businesses" presented by TDG Communications

March 1 from 3pm-5pm at Black Hills State University in the Jonas Academic Hall, room #104

This session will include social media marketing and customer service, blogging for small businesses and online advertising (Google & Facebook). The presenters will also discuss the strategies, costs and messaging for each topic.

Excel Basics

February 6 from 4-7pm at the University Center (Computer lab 106) in Rapid City.

Jean Johnson will present the basics of Excel. She has more than 25 years teaching experience and joined Black Hills State University to teach computer programming, computer applications and management information systems. Johnson is an assistant professor in the College of Business and Natural Sciences.

Topics will include: getting started, formulas & functions and representing data with charts.

Excel Intermediate

February 13 from 4-7pm at the University Center (Computer lab 106) in Rapid City.

Jean Johnson will present Excel topics for the experienced user. Jean Johnson is an assistant professor in the College of Business and Natural Sciences. She has offered workshops, seminars and consulting to businesses, agencies and organizations. Most recently her emphasis has been on application software including Microsoft Office products.

Topics will include: data analysis, Excel tables & database functions and other tips, tricks and answers.

QuickBooks Beginner/Intermediate

February 10 from 8:00am to 4:30 pm at the University Center (Computer lab #106) in Rapid City.

March 6 from 8:00am to 4:30pm at Black Hills State University (GEC, room#009) in Spearfish

Theresa Hook, QuickBooks expert at Casey Peterson & Associates, has been teaching QuickBooks for almost seven years and has been a member of the QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor since 2003. In this class she will present the QuickBooks topics to the new or slightly familiar user.

Topics presented will include, how to: write checks, record deposits, reconcile bank statements, perform payroll, enter and pay vendor bills, invoice customers and receive payments, create and understand financial statements, track sales tax, customize reports, enter and reconcile credit card charges and utilize sub-accounts.

QuickBooks Advanced

Theresa Hook is a member of the accounting team at Casey Peterson & Associates, Inc in Rapid City and has been with the firm for over 6 years. Theresa is the firm's QuickBooks expert and has been a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor since 2003. In this class, she will present QuickBooks topics to the experienced user.

Topics include, how to: create a detailed look at the item list, use double-sided items to implement job costing, use price levels, track time, inventory and sales tax, perform payroll, use sub-accounts, understand financial reports, enter and reconcile credit card charges, make journal entries, and use class tracking to track income and expenses for different locations.

Ginny Wood Nelson, Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Mediator, is in the business of helping groups and organizations function productively and effectively. Ginny has over 30 years of experience providing "industry oriented" training, facilitation, coaching and consultation to corporations, government entities, schools and nonprofit agencies.

Ginny presentation at our "From High Heels to High Places" women's business conference in October 2011 was extremely popular and attendees requested another session from her! This fun and highly interactive seminar will identify your learning and behavior styles and how they differ from your co-workers'. Participants will also gain an understanding of how to successfully resolve conflict in the workplace, learn ways to promote effective communication and be able to identify tools to help bridge the differences.

W.I.N. Women in Networking

Who Should Attend: The mission of the group is to provide an encouraging network for women, help foster their professional growth and development, and support the SD CEO Women's Business Center.
 
W.I.N. is a membership-based group for women that provides networking opportunities. Attend this meeting to see how it can help you to succeed in personal or business growth by networking! Meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Tuesday. No commitment to membership is needed to attend the first meeting. Registration for each monthly meeting is $15 and includes lunch.
