Lindee Lawrence receives 2012 Whirlwind Horse Scholarship at BHSU

Black Hills State University sophomore Lindee Lawrence, biology major from Spearfish, is the recipient of the 2012 Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Scholarship. Each year during the Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Run/Walk, a $500 scholarship is presented to an American Indian sophomore who demonstrates outstanding academic ability and leadership skills. The overall winners for this year’s race were Wes Broeder, Spearfish, and Marci Holben, Spearfish, in the 5K run; and Philip Schwartz, Spearfish, and Keena Byrd-Moro, Spearfish, in the 10K run.

BHSU to host 27th Annual Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Run/Walk

Black Hills State University will hold the 27th Annual Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Run/Walk Saturday, April 14, before the Lakota Omniciye spring powwow. Registration begins at 10 a.m. in Salem Park.

 

 

Floyds pledge $1 million to establish endowment at BHSU

Black Hills State University alumnae and former employee, Elaine Floyd, and her husband, Joe, recently announced a $1 million pledge to endow the Elaine and Joe Floyd Scholarship at BHSU. The couple announced their scholarship endowment at the University’s annual 1883 Donor Recognition Dinner.

BHSU announces American Indian scholarship recipients

The Center for American Indian Studies at Black Hills State University announces the spring 2012 American Indian Education Foundation (AIEF)  scholarship recipients.

BHSU receives scholarship donation from Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo Bank in Spearfish recently donated $3,000 to the Black Hills State University Foundation.

Scholarships at BHSU

 

Black Hills State University has an outstanding scholarship program that has been established by friends, alumni, faculty, staff and students. Scholarships are based on student achievements and may vary from a one semester to a four-year award. Whatever the amount, scholarships play an important role in assisting students with their educational costs.
