Young Performers Competition

This competition will highlight the talented young musicians we have in our communities. Participants compete for $450 in awards. The Young Performers Competition will take place in Meier Recital Hall (BHSU campus) beginning at 7:00 PM on June 14th. Entrance fee is $10 and applications must be submitted by June 12, 2013.

Eligibility:

Open to student musicians in two categories, ages 9-14 and 15-20;
Must live within 100 miles of Spearfish, SD.

Rules:

Memorization is required.
One instrument per competition
Entry in this competition constitutes authorization for use of his/her name in publicity.
Formal dress required.
Classical music only.
First place winners are eligible to compete in the same age category every two years.
Literature level must be late intermediate to advanced.

The entry fee is $10; if you are mailing a check, please make it payable to Johanna Meier Opera Theatre Institute.

As first place winner in my category, I agree to perform on Saturday, June 15, 2012, for the opening Black Hills Summer Institute of the Arts, “A Gala of the Arts”, which will be held at Meier Recital Hall, Black Hills State University, Spearfish, SD, at 7:30 p.m.
