June 14 - Young Performers Competition

This competition will highlight the talented young men and women we have in our communities. Come and be a part of this celebration of the gifted youth we have in Spearfish and the surrounding communities. Two competitions, one for ages 9 - 14 and one for ages 15 - 20 compete for $450 in awards. Location: Meier Recital Hall (BHSU campus). Time: 7:00 P.M. Tickets at the door are $5.

June 15 - Gala Celebration of the Arts

Gala performance will be Saturday at 7:30 pm. in the Meier Recital Hall (Black Hills State University campus). A reception will be held after the performance. Ticket price is $10.

June TBA - Master Classes

Students will present their best audition pieces for critique by program faculty.  These will be held at 1:00 in Meier Recital Hall.  The public is welcome to come and watch as students learn to develop their performance skills.  

June 22 - Aria Recital Evening

Students of the Johanna Meier Opera Theatre Institute will present a selection of vocal pieces. The recital will be held in the Meier Recital Hall (BHSU campus) at 7:30 PM. Open to the general public. Scholarship donation welcomed.

June 28 - An Evening of Opera Scenes

This recital will present a selection of opera scenes and arias that will enchant the audience. The event will be held in the Meier Recital Hall (BHSU campus) at 7:30 PM. A pre-performance lecture will start at 7:00 PM in Meier Hall. Ticket price is $15 for the general public, $10 children under 12, students, and seniors over 65.  

June 29 - A Night at the Opera

The performance will be held in Woodburn Theater at 7:30 PM.  Ticket price is $15 for the general public, $10 for children under 12/ students/seniors over 65.  There is a catered pre-performance dinner at 5:30 PM in Meier Hall for those who would like to have an elegant meal prior to the performance. The cost for the dinner and opera is $30 for the general public, $25 for children under 12/ students/ seniors over 65. Reservations must be made by June 19th. A pre-performance lecture will start at 7:00 PM in Woodburn Theater.  There is a free reception with the artists, which is open to everyone who attended the performance.
