Thank you for visiting my website! If you would like to learn more about me, read on.

Family and High School

I grew up on a small family farm in Eastern South Dakota with my parents and two younger brothers. I love life on the farm! Open spaces and pure country air are definite blessings of my childhood.

My high school was a 30 minute/30 mile commute. I was involved in volleyball, oral interpretation, school plays, National Honor Society, and Student Council. I greatly enjoyed my high school experience. My teachers challenged me to place my identity in something steadfast, rather than something fickle like grades. I was prepared not only for college by my teachers, but for life as well.

College Studies

I am currently a junior at Black Hills State University. My major is Math and Spanish Secondary Education. I am in upper level math classes, which have been both challenging and fun (something only a math major would say). I plan on visiting a Spanish-speaking country this summer to help improve my Spanish and prepare me more fully for the classroom.

Activities and Interests

Besides studying and working as an STF, I am involved in Campus Ventures, a campus ministry at BHSU. I am on the leadership and planning team. We have a large group meeting every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Club Buzz. Everyone is welcome!

CV provides small groups for deeper learning and accountability. I am in a D-group, which is basically an intense Bible study. Through D-group and my friends at CV, I have been challenged to live my life fully for God. What is the point of having just one foot in the water? The experience is much fuller and more rewarding when you dive all the way in.

When homework is under control, I enjoy physical activities and the outdoors. I love playing volleyball at City Park, attempting to beat my brother in racquetball, riding horses with my aunt, biking alongside Spearfish Creak, and hiking with my friends. I also enjoy baking, workout videos, scrapbooking, and reading.

Future Plans

There are two different directions that I may take after college. One option is that I would like to teach high school math and Spanish in a small South Dakota town. Also, I am thinking about joining staff with Campus Ventures, a Christian ministry at BHSU. My future plans are not certain in my mind, but God holds my future secure. I will follow God wherever He leads me.
