About Us

Information and Instructional Technology Services (IITS) – Our mission is to be a leader in promoting and enabling technology to enhance the learning environment. IITS works collaboratively with faculty, students and staff to leverage technology to advance and support BHSU’s delivery of education, development of research, and engagement of students.

Our guiding principles include a focus on communication, collaboration, efficiency, effectiveness, research, outreach, and service to the BHSU community in the field of information technology.

We are committed to improving the learning experience and to serving the needs of the "net generation" and our “non-traditional” students' expectations. In addition, we are dedicated to supporting our students, whether they are in our Spearfish/Rapid City service area or beyond.

Departments within the IITS area are:

Administrative Information Management Services (AIMS) provides support to the centralized administrative systems, local systems, web based systems, and reporting.

Digital Media Resource Services (DMRS) provides support for the production of audio, video and electronic media used in academic and research presentations.

Instructional Technology Services (ITS) enhances and maintains classroom technology to provide an environment where teaching and learning is enhanced by the use of these classroom tools. ITS also provides administrative support for online, course and web conferencing applications.

Network and Computer Services (NCS) provides a secure and responsive computing and network environment which fosters academic and research excellence. NCS achieves this mission by incorporating innovative technology products from the private sector with the highest-quality products and services developed internally.
