BarbaraZwetzig, Director

Barbara Zwetzig joined Black Hills State University in June of 2008 as the Director for the Center of Business, Entrepreneurship & Tourism. A native of Rapid City and a graduate of SDSM&T, Barbara returned to the Black Hills in the spring of 2006. Prior to joining BHSU, Barbara spent two years as the Senior Director of Operations for Boomerang Management Enterprises in Rapid City, and 17 years at Hewlett-Packard/Agilent Technologies in Loveland, Colorado.  Her roles there included Project Manager, Business Process Consultant, Supply Chain Manager, Production Supervisor and Operations/Materials Planner. Barbara received her MBA from Colorado State University. She received her Incubator Management Certification from the National Business Incubation Association in 2010. She is the current President of the Spearfish Economic Development Corporation board of directors and a board member of the Black Hills Community Economic Development board of directors. Barbara serves on the Lawrence County Dakota Rising resource team which has helped several local businesses to win Dakota Rising fellowships to assist them in their efforts to thrive and grow. In 2010-2012, Barbara experimented with a virtual business incubator "test pilot", assisting five local businesses. In partnership with the Spearfish Area Chamber of Commerce, the Black Hills Virtual business Incubation Program, BH VIP, was launched from shared office space at the Chamber in January of 2013.  Barbara also coordinates student internships for the BHSU College of Business and Natural Sciences.
