Saturday, October 1st

High Plains Rendezvous
7pm - 10pm.  High Plains Heritage Center in Spearfish.

On Saturday night, Shootout photographers and instructors will gather at the High Plains Heritage Center to swap yarns and photos from the day’s shooting in the grand cowboy tradition.
Shootout activities include:

Campfire Slideshow
Bring a slide show of your best/favorite/fun stuff to share.  We'll circle around the campfire and watch and discuss and critique.  Door prizes will also be given out at this gathering.

Campfire Slide Show Tips:
- Keep it to under 4-5 minutes in length.
- Make the image size close to 1280px by 800px. These will be played back on a MacBook Pro laptop.  Non-standard sizes and verticals are fine, just fill as much of the screen as you can.
- The following formats are known to work: jpg, pdf, mov, avi, wmv, mpg, mp4.  If you have something else, let us know so we can try it ahead of time.  We can make most work.
- Photo/videos set to music are fine and welcome.
- You can choose to narrate along or not.
- You can bring your show to us on a hard drive, flash drive or dvd/cd or email to us ahead of time.
- Subject matter is up to you and not at all limited to the Shootout.
- Have fun with it!

Night Sky Photography
Chad Coppess and several other Shootout instructors will also set up their gear outside the Heritage Center for a fun informal night shoot of star trails, etc. The Shutterbuzz Club plans to have a large telescope and T-mounts available for attaching your camera to do some astro-photography.  No registration required for this bonus shooting session, just keep your fingers crossed for clear skies!

Book tables and signings
Shootout instructors and the Black Hills Photo Club will have tables and books to review and a chance to have them signed by the photographers.

Book exchange
You know those photography coffee table books that have been sitting on you shelf since the west was wild?  Here's a chance to get something new.  Simply bring your books (as many as you like) along and we'll have a book exchange table setup.  A small contribution to the Heritage Center (a dollar or two) is all that's needed to get something new (new to you, that is).

Tour the Center
The High Plains Heritage Center holds a large collection of western artifacts and cowboy memorabilia. Centerpiece of the exhibits is an enormous statue of a mounted cowboy firing his pistol. Stagecoaches, saddles and a three-state view are featured.  Cameras will be welcome and admission to the center is free for participants.
