Vanocker Canyon Colors

Vanocker Canyon is a very picturesque and readily accessible area of the Black Hills. Located between Sturgis and Nemo South Dakota. The scenery in the Hills is dominated by Ponderosa Pine, Black hills Spruce, Aspen and Birch trees. This field trip will begin with a meeting point in Sturgis and we will proceed through the canyon with numerous stops to photograph the fall colors. A side trip to Dalton Lake will provide participants with an opportunity to work with contrasting colors and reflections.

Things to know.
This will be a driving tour through the Black Hills.  Participants will be encouraged to carpool.
 
Things to bring.
Wide angle and medium telephoto and zoom lenses are recommended but close-up and macro lenses may be handy for capturing details. A tripod is strongly recommended. The leader of this activity will have extra tripods for those who do not have their own.
