Marty DeWitt
Marty DeWitt is not a professional photographer, at least by definition. He gives most of his stuff away!
He has enjoyed the hobby of photography for nearly 40 years, just slightly longer than his 38-year career in the state parks of Vermont and South Dakota. His main interests are nature, wildlife and landscapes, and his “bucket list” includes visiting as many national parks and monuments as possible. With 91 already under his belt, he has been able to capture many images of our nation’s grandest landscapes. He is currently exploring the macro world, photographing the many species of lichens found across the Midwest.
He is a frequent contributor of articles and images for the South Dakota “Conservation Digest” and other Game, Fish and Parks publications and websites. His images have also been published by the Rails to Trails Conservancy, on the L.L. Bean website, in numerous calendars, local tourism travel guides, multi-media and theatrical productions, museum and visitor center exhibits, newspapers and even CD and cassette tape covers. Marty is a long-time member of the Sioux Falls Camera Club, and for the last four years has edited the club’s newsletter.
