After Charley Voorhis developed a passion for filmmaking in high school, he went on to study film at Brooks Institute of Photography in Ventura California. In 2004 he founded Voortex Productions, a boutique production company specializing in music videos, live productions, marketing spots, promotional videos, short films and documentaries. His clientele and art focused projects have lead him to extensive travel around Washington State, Iceland, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Costa Rica. He offers a unique approach to production focusing on the essence and emotional values allowing the energy of the subject to carry the story. The HDSLR has been an extremely powerful tool in evoking inspiration in his viewers.
Charley teachs Cinematography and Production at Wenatchee Valley Tech where he introduces professional concepts and skills to juniors and seniors in high school. In 2011 he lead a team of two students to the Nationals Skills USA contest in Kansas City MO where they got 2nd place in the nation for the promotional video production after placing first in both Regionals and State. He also has a team returning to Nationals for the 2012 contest after winning Regionals and State for the second time.
