Black Hills Backroads Jeep Tour

Outdoor Workshop

In a unique ride along opportunity, our off roaders will take a small group of photographers into areas that are not accessible by normal automobiles.  This open air ride will show you a side of the Black Hills that most visitors would never have a chance to experience.

Activity Level
Low.  Very light hiking will be done at each stop and most shooting will be done close to the vehicles.

Things to know

Photographers will ride in vehicles provided by the instructor and staff.  There is somewhat limited space in the Jeep so please keep your equipment limited to one bag and a tripod.  This will be a bumpy ride as it is on back roads.  This workshop is about 45 minutes from BHSU. We will be following the edge of Spearfish Canyon, either north or south rim, visiting scenic locations such as ghost towns, aspen groves and stream crossings.  The exact route will be determined just prior to the workshop as it will vary depending on road, weather and color conditions.

What to bring
Lenses from wide angle to moderate telephoto could be used to your advantage.   A tripod is always a good thing but handholding is sometimes necessary depending on the subject.  Fill flash could be used as well but would not be required.
