Friday, September 28th

7:00pm  Meier Hall at Black Hills State University

We will be kicking off the 3rd annual Black Hills Photo Shootout with a keynote presentation by noted photographer, instructor and lecturer, Rick Sammon!

Rick has published 36 books including a series of 3-D books for kids.  He is in the Explores Club and has photographed in almost 100 countries around the world.  When asked about his photo specialty, he says, “My specialty is not specializing.” That's because I try to do it all.  Combine that with his philosophy of never giving up, and it’s no wonder that he is a Canon Explorer of Light, a Westcott Top Pro and a Lexar Elite Photographer.  When he is not on the road or writing, he is playing the guitar or keyboards.

He also has a great sense of humor to go with all of that photography talent.  He says, “Perhaps my biggest accomplishment is having a sushi roll named after me at Samurai Japanese restaurant in Croton-on-Hudson, New York!”

Please join us on Friday night for an amazing presentation by Rick.  We will also have some great doorprizes for Shootout attendees!

Sunday Lunch Presentation
11:30 am - 1:30 pm

We will all meet on Sunday during lunch for a presentation by professional photographers Jason Hahn, Les Voorhis and Steve Babbitt along with other Shootout instructors.  They will each tell you about their top 3 pieces of photo gear... the ones they couldn't live without, the ones they would have with them if they were stranded on an island.  And to go with each, a photo that they couldn't have gotten without that piece of gear. There will be time for questions.

Besides the fantastic presentation, we will have some great doorprizes, so don't miss out!

Things to know
Lunch will be available for purchase in the BHSU Student Union restaurant area and can be brought into the presentation.
