Black Hills Photo Shootout Checklist
A few "bullet" points so you're loaded and ready to go!
 
1. Check your info.
    Make sure your name(s) and the sessions you signed up for are correct.  We will have
    nametags with your names and hometown on them.  Email us if you have changes.
 
2. Know the way. 
    Check out the meeting points and locations of your sessions.  A brochure
    with times and locations and maps will be a part of your gift bag at check-in.  Make sure
    you can find your way to the registration desk at Meier Hall on the BHSU campus. 
 
3. Make hotel reservations.
    The Best Western Black Hills Lodge is offering discounts to Shootout participants.
    Call 605-642-7795 and mention the Shootout to get a $89 room.
    Spearfish Canyon Lodge is offering a discounted rate of $69.00 for standard guest room,
    $89.00 for premier guest rooms, and 15% off on suites.  Call 605-584-3435 and mention 
    the Shootout to get the rates.     
 
4. Check for some new gear and software.
    Visit the Think Tank Photo site and get a free gift on any purchase over $50.
    Visit the Photomatix site and get 20% off.  Use the coupon code BlackHillsPhoto20 (case 
    sensitive) on the order form when you click "Buy" button on their website.
    Plan to check out the MAC Group equipment and presentations.  They will also be providing
    some gear to loan out during the weekend. 
       
5. Attend the Shootout Primer on Friday.
    The Black Hills Photo Club will hold a primer for photographers at the Outdoor Campus 
    West in Rapid City.  Find more info on the Social Events page.

6. Be Social. 
    Become a fan of our Facebook page to keep up on the latest news and fun stuff.
    View and share photos on our Flickr page. 
 
7. Show up on the big screen.
     Be a part of the Campfire Slide Show on Saturday night at the High Plains Heritage Center.
     This is a chance to share your work, get feedback if you wish and get to know your fellow
     shooters. Find tips to make your own slideshow here.  
 
8. Bring along a good book.
    Dust off your old books and bring them to the Saturday night social. There will be a
    table set up for a book exchange. Bring an old photo book and trade it in for something
    new for a small donation.   
      
9. Dress for the occasion.  
    Get your Official Shootout t-shirts and gear at the Cafe Press Store.
 
10. Join us at the end of trail in Deadwood.
     We are planning to be at the Deadwood Social Club on Sunday night. Dinner will be
    optional (Check out the menu here) and we'll have a social to meet and cap the weekend. 
    Email us if  you think you will attend so we can give them a rough count.  
 
All's thats left is to roundup your gear and check-in!
