About the Jacket Investment Club
The JIC was founded in 2005 to enhance student learning and engagement in the financial market, in addition to sponsoring guest speakers and field trips to increase students' professionalism in the fields of economics and finance. The Jacket Investment Club is formed as a legal partnership entity to give students a vehicle to invest their own money and learn how to analyze securities.
We currently have over 20 members and are looking for new members as well. The club members are broken down into groups of three people to allow a better focus on specific stocks. Currently each members invests between a minimum of $20 and a maximum of $100 a month. We meet on average once every two weeks although we sometimes have special events. Additionally, the separate groups meet to review stocks outside of the meetings.
