Black Hills State University Swarm Day parade winners
The Girl Scouts received the award 
for best community organization in 
the 2003 Swarm Day parade. These
Girl Scouts handed out candy during
the parade. 
The Black Hills Pure Water float was awarded the best community business float.
Thomas Hall received the award for best residence hall float.
The award for best overall campus float went to Pangburn Hall.
Sigma Tau Gamma was recognized for the best use of theme. This year’s theme was “Swarmin’ in the Jungle.”
The Kadoka High School band, led by Colby Shuck (left), a 1998 graduate of Black Hills State University, won the Division B band competition.
The Sundance High School band took home first place in the Division A band competition and received the award for best band overall.
The Spearfish High School band was honored with first place in Division AA.
First place for best middle school 
band was awarded to Spearfish 
Middle School.
