Jace Cuney DeCory (Lakota/Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe), has been an Instructor with the American Indian Studies Program since January 1984,teaching in a variety of disciplines. Currently affiliated with the Department of History & Social Sciences, College of Arts & Sciences, Jace teaches primarily History and Sociology courses. Jace's interests lie in Lakota history, art , philosophy, Indian women and cultural change. Jace began her teaching career in 1973 and she has also served as an educational consultant for a number of years. Jace's husband, Sam, passed into the spirit world in May 2002. Her remaining guiding forces are her two sons, Sam, Jr. and Dawson. She enjoys beading baby moccasins for relatives and friends. Jace credits the Lakota elders for providing guidance, prayers and support throughout her life. Mitakuye Oyasin (For All My Relations)
