We received 207 reservation requests for rooms in 2010. Sixteen reservations (8%) had to cancel. Of the remaining 191 reservations, 37 (19%) were for Block A, 95 (50%) were for Block B, and 45 (24%) were for Block C.  Attendance was estimated at 466,769, an increase of 5.6% from the 69th Rally. Attendance is calculated by a formula which considers tons of garbage hauled during Rally, vendor licenses issued, SD sales tax collected, motorcycle counts at Mount Rushmore, and DOT traffic counts.

The 70th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally recovered somewhat in number of visitors, although it didn’t approach the record-setting 65th Rally. However, all numbers in Sturgis pointed to a recovery for the Sturgis Rally. The weather was sunny and fine and it was a great Rally. Here’s to the 71st being just as good!
