Earth Day 2014
This years theme is "Green Cities", which was created to help cities around the world become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint. The focus is set on three elements: Buildings, Energy, and Transportation. Visit www.EarthDay.org to discover more information about Earth Day.

Battle of the Dorms - the residence halls on campus will compete to see who can conserve the most water during the month of April

April 21-25:
Recycled art display in the Student Union - Sponsored by the BHSU Art Club

BHSU STARS announcement
Vote for your favorite new BHSU Sustainability slogan
Container garden prep and painting
Straw-bale construction demonstration
1/2 Priced Coffee at the Buzz Shack when you bring your own reusable mug  - 9-11am

April 22-23:
Clothing Swap - Sponsored by Student Senate - 11am-1pm

Saturday, April 26:
Cleanup service activity in the Black Hills being held by the American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES)
Earth Day 5K- Starts on campus from the Wenona Cook residence hall. Race starts at 11:00 am. Registration cost is $5 for students and $10 for community, faculty, and staff. Contact Residence Life or register the day of the race.

Sustainability Day 2014
Wednesday, October 22:
Black Hills State University will again be participating in “National Campus Sustainability Day”  to inform the community and BHSU students about what is being done on campus and in Spearfish to decrease its impact on the environment. The theme for this years Campus Sustainability Day is "Empowering Change on Campus and in the Community."
