Earth Day at BHSU



All of April:
Battle of the Dorms - the residence halls on campus will compete to see who can conserve the most water during the month of April

April 21-25:
- Recycled art display in the Student Union- Sponsored by the BHSU Art Club

Tuesday, April 22:
- BHSU's STARS announcement at the Employee Awards Reception at 1pm in the Jacket Legacy Room
- Vote for your favorite new BHSU Sustainability slogan in the Student Union
- Container garden construction and wood staining - 3:30pm at Facilities Services
- Straw-bale construction demonstration - Noon-1pm outside the Student Union (will be rescheduled if there is rain)
- 1/2 price coffee at the Buzz Shack when you bring your own reusable mug from 9-11 a.m.

April 22-23:
- Clothing Swap- Sponsored by Student Senate from 11 a.m. -1 p.m.

Saturday, April 26:
- Cleanup service activity in the Black Hills being held by the American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES) - Noon-4pm
Earth Day 5K- The race starts on campus from the Wenona Cook residence hall at 11:00 am. Registration cost is $5 for students and $10 for community, faculty, and staff. Contact Residence Life to register, register online, or register the day of the race.
- Spearfish Community Garden work day

BHSU Takes the Lead in Going Green

BHSU now offers a Master of Science in Sustainability, which can be taken entirely online.

This degree prepares students for leadership positions in higher education, industry, utilities, non-profits, and local, state, or federal government entities.
