The BHSU Little Jackets Learning Center strives to achieve the following purposes and goals:

• To create a safe and fun learning environment that promotes discovery, divergent thinking, and continual growth in abilities and positive self-image.
• To provide an educational program to meet the needs of each child with concern for his or her interests, special needs, and talents.
• To provide opportunities for children to grow and develop through exploration and experimentation with various learning materials and activities.
• To provide activities that are stimulating, age appropriate, and enhance social, physical, emotional, and intellectual development.

Children learn through play. Play is the child's way of learning, exploring, and understanding the world as well as a source of pleasure. Through play, children test new ideas practice new skills, and begin to understand relationships.
