The student union building was originally built in 1963.  It was expanded in 1968, 1997 and most recently in 2009.  In 1998, the building was dedicated and renamed the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union.

Dr. David B. Biller, a history professor from 1968 - 1997, received the 1997 Distinguished Faculty Award and was a four-time recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Student Senate.
