BHSU students work in a variety of local businesses on a part-time basis during the school year. Many then transition to more hours during holiday and summer breaks from classes. In addition to part-time jobs, the students are a great asset as interns and seasonal employees. They bring fresh energy and new ideas to your workplace.
It is important to remember, though, that their primary concern is classes and their studies. While they are committed to being an outstanding employee, they also need to know that their schedule will include adequate time to study. Some employers find that by having one or two more employees than required they have enough to allow for trading of shifts when necessary. Experience shows that by supporting them in achieving their education goals (working with them), our students will be loyal and committed to you and your business.

What is an internship? An internship is essentially a practical training position that gives a student hands-on, real world experience in a specific academic or professional field. You may find that some of your part-time or seasonal positions would make excellent internships! Our students are eager to complete internships, because they are invaluable learning opportunities, as well as documented experience in their chosen profession.
