Where is the cardboard recycling?
Cardboard recycling can be found in every building on campus. In this bin you can place cardboard, as well as celan paperboard (such as cracker and tissue boxes) and Tetra Paks. Just look for the big red bin!

Items such as plastic utensils, Styrofoam, candy wrappers, paper napkins, paper towels, and disposable coffee cups are considered trash. Currently, there is no campus-wide compost initiative, so food waste items such as coffee grounds, tea bags, apple cores, and banana peels are also considered trash.
What can be placed in the paper bin?
Paper items such as printer paper, colored paper, notebook paper, sticky notes, and envelopes belong in the paper bin.
What can be placed in the plastic and glass bin?
Clear and colored glass and plastics labeled with a triangle and numbers 1-7 belong in the plastic and glass bin.
What can be placed in the cans bin?
Canned food items such as soup cans and tuna cans can be placed in the cans bin once they have been rinsed and labels have been removed. Soda cans also belong in this bin.
What can be placed in the magazine bin?
Glossy and shiny paper can be placed in the magazine bin. There is one magazine and newspaper recycling station on each floor, in every building.
What can be placed in the newspaper bin?
Newsprint and newsprint-like materials can be placed in the newspaper bin. There is one magazine and newspaper recycling station on each floor, in every building.
What items can be taken to Facility Services?
Facility Services will pick up, batteries, CDs, cell phones, and old electronic equipment such as computers. Be sure to fill out an inventory deletion form before requesting pick up. You can request these items for pick up by submitting a work order.
How do I use my Trash Buddy?
The blue bin of your Trash Buddy is for recyclable items. These items include paper, plastic, glass, cans, glossy paper, newsprint, and cardboard. When your blue bin is ready to be emptied, simply take it to the nearest recycling station and place the items in the appropriate bins. The smaller grey bin of your Trash Buddy is for trash items. These items include plastic utensils, paper napkins, paper towels, Styrofoam, and disposable coffee cups. Food items such as coffee grounds, tea bags, apple cores, and other leftovers also belong in the grey bin. When the trash bin is ready to be emptied, remove the liner and take the contents to the nearest waste station. The farthest right bin is for landfill trash.
Where can I find more liners for my Trash Buddy?
Department heads have extra liners for the Trash Buddies. Department heads will need to obtain extra liners from Facility Services.
How can I request additional recycling receptacles for University events?
Facility Services will provide extra recycling receptacles for any University sponsored event, both on campus and off. For the best accommodations, please plan one week in advance and submit a work order with detailed instructions.
