Network Account Information (Faculty/Staff)

Network accounts are created for users when they become employed by Black Hills State University. All users must read and agree to abide by the South Dakota Board of Regents Information Technology Appropriate Use Policy. This policy is available from the BHSU Personnel Office, located in Woodburn, also in PDF format below.

After users have read and agree to the SDBOR Information Technology Appropriate Use Policy, they are required to fill out a Network Access Application Form. Please fill in all respectable fields as they apply to you. Incomplete forms will be denied. A supervisor or Dean must sign the form in order for an account to be created. Please allow up to three days for account creation. Please direct all questions concerning account application and creation to 642.6580.

This form can be printed out and returned to Network & Computer Services, located in the basement of the Library, L006, faxed to 605.642.6660, or via campus mail Unit 9665.

Faculty & Staff Computing

Network & Computer Services (NCS) strives to provide a secure working environment for faculty and staff, while trying to provide a network that is easy to use. NCS maintains the faculty-staff network, including all applications and client-side support. Many security policies are in-place that are intended to make your experience both productive and enjoyable.

Faculty and Staff computers are protected from use by unauthorized users, such as students. For this reason, if a student employee needs access to your computer, or a work-study computer, they must obtain permission from NCS. Account modifications must be made in order to facilitate this arrangement.

Please contact the BHSU Help Desk for more information.
