Performance artists speaks on her conceptual way of illustrating the wonders of science

For artistic director and choreographer Jodi Lomask, it is the mysteries of the world that inspire her work, and the creative minds of scientists and artists that collaborate to unravel those mysteries.

Lomask brought her unique perspective on art and science to the Black Hills State University campus earlier this week.

Physicist to present "Science as Performance" at BHSU

Physicist Dr. Brian Schwartz will speak at BHSU Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. in the Laboratory Theatre in the basement of Pangburn Hall. The program will also feature a reading by BHSU theatre students from Michael Frayn’s Copenhagen.

Black Hills State University students will be doing increased genomics and biomedical research as a result of a multi-million dollar grant.

BHSU brings national physics program to high school teachers and students

South Dakota high school students will have the rare opportunity to be involved in national physics research at the Sanford Lab thanks to an outreach program through Black Hills State University. This summer two high school physics teachers, one from Hill City and one from Aberdeen, participated in a national research and study program known as QuarkNet that is designed to get high school teachers, and ultimately high school students, involved in particle physics research.
 

BHSU students assist with technology needs at Sanford Lab

Black Hills State University students are assisting with the increasing information technology (IT) needs at the Sanford Lab at Homestake in Lead. This summer students and staff from the Network and Computer Services Office at BHSU visited the lab to access its IT needs. NCS members participated in a surface tour, which included a tour of the data center.
