Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee

 

Overview:

Approval from the Institutional Animal Use and Care Committee (IACUC) is required before any research involving animals is allowed at BHSU. To request IACUC approval:

  1. Complete and print certificates for the online research ethics course  (only required for new researchers who have not had an approved protocol) and the online responsible conduct of research course.
  2. Attach the online course completion certificates to a full protocol (for animals) or abbreviated protocol (for invertebrates).
  3. Submit your completed protocol to the Sponsored Programs office, Woodburn 213, Unit 9504.
  4. Await review and formal written approval before beginning research.

Project Conclusion / Cancellation

Please complete the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee Project Closure Form when an approved IACUC protocol is concluded or cancelled.  Please send the completed and signed Project Closure Form to the IACUC Chairperson, Black Hills State University, Sponsored Programs Office, Unit 9504.
