Departmental Buzz Card

An on-line card office is now available at https://community.bhsu.edu . You will need to activate each Departmental Buzz Card separately. Here are a few simple steps to activating your account.

1. At the first screen of the Blackboard Community System select the User Login Tab.
2. At the next screen, under the Have A Account? Login Here. Use the information below.
   
   Your logon user name is:
   The number printed on your departmental card.
   The total number of digits that must be entered must equal 11 with 0 left fill.
   
   EXAMPLE: if your departmental Buzz card number is 9987113442 the user name would be 00998711344; if your Buzz card number is 10012 the user name would be 00000001001.
   
   The "first time" password is:  001234
3. Select the login tab
4. The next screen is Welcome, and your first name.
5. In the column on the left side that is titled Tools. Select: Personal Information
6. Select: Edit Personal Information
7. There are two fields of information that need to be verified the first time only that you log into this site.
   
   Check the email address and make any corrections. This should be your BHSU email address.
   
   Enter the card number printed on the front of your Buzz card in the card number field.
8. At the very bottom of the form click submit button to save your changes.
9. Go to the My Accounts Tab.
   This tab shows your account balances. The only balance that will be shown will be the Department account and this will be a negative amount. Your departmental Buzz card is a credit card and the balances increment down to your predefined credit limit which varies by each card.
   
   You can view up to 3 months of printable statements of your account.
   
   Statement dates are as of the 1st day of each month. The Buzz card system forwards data to Banner Accounting System from 1st of the month through the end month.
   
   You can view transaction history of your accounts.
   
   You can set up an email reminder when your account drops below an amount that you define and you can request an email reminder when a new statement is available.
   
   You can report a lost or stolen card which will prevent your card from being used.

Personal Card

An on-line card office is now available at https://community.bhsu.edu . Below are the instructions to activate your faculty and staff personal BUZZ cards.

1. At the first screen of the Blackboard Community System select the User Login Tab.
2. At the next screen, under the Have A Account? Login Here. Use the information below.
   
   Your logon user name is: firstname, middleinitial, lastname without any spaces. It is not case sensitive.
   
   EXAMPLE: Jane L. Doe would be janeldoe
   
   Your password is: your birth date in the following format:  January 3, 1980 is 01031980
3. Select the login tab
4. The next screen is Welcome, and your first name.
5. In the column on the left side that is titled Tools. Select: Personal Information
6. Select: Edit Personal Information

   Enter the card number printed on the front of your BUZZ card in the card number field.

   You can make deposit with a credit card to you Buzz account. (In future e-check deposits will be allowed)

   The on-line card office has the function to allow parents, friends and others to deposit funds onto your Buzz account without viewing any information concerning your account. To login as a guest, they need your first name, last name and campus email address. They can enter the card office on the second screen Have A Account? Login Here. They would select the Preview Button on the left side.
