Twenty eight women were honored at the South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity’s fifth annual Women’s Business Conference as graduates from the Women’s Leadership Series: Focusing on the Future 2014. The SD CEO Women’s Business Center at Black Hills State University partnered with Goldcorp-Wharf Resources to present this five month educational series, which was launched in June.
Travel around the world without leaving Spearfish during the Black Hills State University International Festival in November. The annual event, which showcases BHSU international students’ home countries, is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 in the Donald B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union on the BHUS campus.
Dr. James Hess, professor of psychology and chair of the School of Behavioral Sciences at Black Hills State University, recently pledged a $1 million gift to BHSU to establish the School of Behavioral Sciences Make a Difference Initiative.
Dr. Courtney Huse Wika, assistant professor of English, will explore the past and present-day celebrations of Halloween during Thursday’s Geek Speak Lecture at Black Hills State University. A costume contest will follow the lecture.
The battle is on. Nine Black Hills State University students will compete for the best design during this year’s Student Design Jam. The American Advertising Federation – Black Hills (AAF-BH) is hosting the 2014 Student Design Jam from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29 in the Jacket Legacy Room in the Donald B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union on the BHSU campus.
