Renewable energy research grants

Xcel Energy recently announced the availability of $23 million to invest in new ways to produce electricity from renewable resources. The company is accepting proposals for grants from its Renewable Development Fund. Funding for renewable energy projects will be available for various-sized projects in two categories: energy production and research and development.

Grant applications are due to Xcel Energy by July 12, 2007.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m., June 5, 2007, at the company's office in Minneapolis. Selected proposals will be announced in October 2007.
