University Assessment Committee

The University Assessment Committee met Monday, March 26 at 9 a.m. in the Meier Hall Conference Room.

Present were: Earley, P. Carriveau, Ryerson, Simpson, and Alsup. Absent were: Dugan, Romkema, Colmenero-Chilberg, Hagerty, Sarkar, Calhoon, Haislett, and Chandler.

Reports:

  • NSSE-FSSE - Chair asked committee to review the report and make suggestions or comments to him if they have items to be discussed.
  • Bachelor of Applied Technology (BATS) annual assessment report - Report was not accepted because it only had one instrument to measure student learning. The committee asked for rewrite and resubmission.
  • Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction (MSCI) - A motion was made and seconded to accept. Motion passed.
  • Human Services - A motion was made and seconded to accept. Motion Passed.
  • Industrial Technology - A motion was made and seconded to accept with proviso that next year the department use the business major as a model for reporting. Motion passed.
  • K-12 Education and 7-12 Education assessment report - Simpson presented the information to the committee.
  • MSCI K-12 math specialist plan to assess - The committee accepted the plan to assess.
  • President's Friday Afternoon Group - Chair invited members of the committee to come to the next meeting of the President's Friday Afternoon Group to discuss the various surveys and what these surveys reveal about BHSU.

The next meeting will be Monday, April 2 at 9 a.m. in the Meier Hall Conference Room.
