BHSU Buzz Card

An on-line card office is now available at https://community.bhsu.edu. You will need to activate each Departmental Buzz Card separately. Here are a few simple steps to activating your account.

  1. At the first screen of the Blackboard Community System select BHSU Departments in the drop down menu.
  2. Your login user name is:
    The number printed on your departmental card excluding any zeros before the number.
    EXAMPLE: if your departmental Buzz card number is 000001234 the user name would be 1234.
  3. The "first time" password is:  bhsu1234
  4. Select the login button
  5. The next screen is the accounts summary page
  6. In the boxes on the left are the account balances. To view transaction history just click on the box.
  7. This tab shows your account balances. The only balance that will be shown will be the Department account and this will be a negative amount. Your departmental Buzz card is a credit card and the balances increment down to your predefined credit limit which varies by each card.

    You can view up to 12 months of printable statements of your account.

    Statement dates are as of the 1st day of each month. The Buzz card system forwards data to Banner Accounting System from 1st of the month through the end month.

    You can view transaction history of your accounts.

    You can set up an email reminder when your account drops below an amount that you define and you can request an email reminder when a new statement is available.

    You can report a lost or stolen card which will prevent your card from being used.

An on-line card office is now available at https://community.bhsu.edu . Below are the instructions to activate your faculty and staff personal BUZZ cards.

  1. At the first screen of the BHSU Online Card Office for the Sign on Realm select BHSU Faculty Staff.
  2. Your username and password will be the same as your sign in information to sign on to the BHSU computer system.
  3. Click the Sign In button.
  4. The next screen is Your Accounts summary page.
  5. In the tabs on the top of the page select: My Profile 
  6. Select: Edit Personal Information
  7. Check the email address and make any corrections. This should be your BHSU email address.
    Verify all information and then click Update Personal Information at the bottom of the page.
  8. Go to the Accounts Tab.
    • This tab shows your account balances.
    • You can view up to twelve months of printable statements of your account.
    • You can make deposits with a credit card or debit card to you Buzz Bucks account.
    • You can view transaction history of your accounts.
    • You can set up email reminders for new available statements or to alert you
        when your account drops below an amount that you define.
  9. Go to the Board Tab.
    • Here you can view your meal/dining plan and see how many meals that you have used as well as how many meals you have left
  10. Go to the Card Services tab
    • Here you will be able to deactivate your card immediately if you have lost it, you can also reactivate your card if you have found it before you replaced it.
