Betty Richey, ’43

Richey received three degrees from BHSU: her teaching certificate in 1943, Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1951, and a Master of Science in education in 1964. She also has a Master of Arts degree from Colorado State College. During her career, she taught school at the elementary level in McLaughlin, Winner, Rapid City and overseas in Japan, France and Germany. She ended her career as a principal from 1975-1986 at South Canyon School in Rapid City and in Black Hawk. Richey has also established an education scholarship at BHSU.
