South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds was recently joined by representatives of South Dakota’s public universities and members of the S.D. Board of Regents to commemorate the signing of House Bill 1085. The bill authorizes a $74.5 million state bond issue to finance construction, renovation, and modernization of 11 higher education science facilities and laboratory projects. Present for the bill signing were (from left): Regent James Hansen; Regent Tony Venhuizen; Douglas Knowlton, president of Dakota State University; Regents Executive Director Tad Perry; Gov. Rounds; Regent Dean Krogman; Kay Schallenkamp, president of Black Hills State University; and Charles Ruch, president of South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
