Hess
Dr. James Hesson, Black Hills State University professor of physical education and health, recently completed a five-week stay at the United States Olympic Training Center.

Hesson served as a visiting sport physiologist, which required that he participate in physiological testing of athletes, data analysis and interpretation, athlete and coach education, lab supervision and maintenance, and interaction with visiting dignitaries and professional colleagues.  Much of Hesson’s work was to prepare Team USA athletes for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Hesson received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and doctorate degree from Brigham Young University.  He has been a member of the faculty since 1990.
