Dr. Annette Ryerson, assistant business professor at Black Hills State University and Christine Coolidge, staff member for the Center for Business, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism Services (CBETS) at BHSU, recently presented the results of a survey in cooperation with the Yankton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Convention and Visitors Bureau and the BHSU Center for Business, Entrepreneurship and Tourism.  The survey found that most visitors to Yankton returned to take advantage of the town’s natural resources.

The data will be used to develop marketing plans for the area and to assist the Chamber of Commerce’s plans to redesign its Web site. Ryerson and Coolidge offered several recommendations to further the marketing plan, including promotional literature, branding, family advertising, and attracting business travelers.
