Black Hills State University junior Kevin Schwan, a business administration major from Aberdeen, won both the student and community divisions of the fifth annual Welcome Back Students Disc Golf Tournament.
Schwan topped the student scoreboard with a nine under par and the community scoreboard with an 11 under par. Thirty students and community members participated in the disc golf tournaments.
Par for the 18-hole course is 54. The winners of the student tournament
are as follows:
First place - Schwan, score of 43
Second place – three-way tie with Andy Altmyer, freshman from Spearfish; Kelly Uttecht, senior from Huron; and Brice Johnson, senior from Sheridan, Wyo.; score of 49
Third place – Ethan Plumb, freshman from Rapid City, score of 51
Fourth place – tie between Kyle Grauman, a junior from Rapid City majoring in business administration ; and Dan Maher, a senior from Rapid City majoring in business administration;score of 53
Fifth place – tie between Josh Green, sophomore from Gillette, Wyo.; and Andrew Kliewer, a junior physical education major from Rapid City; score of 54
Sixth place – three-way tie with Nathan Hoogshagen, a sophomore from Spearfish majoring in psychology; Michael Roberts, a junior business administration major from Pierre; and Peter Mickelson, a junior from Pierre majoring in business administration; score of 57
The winners of the community tournament were:
First place – Schwan, score of 45
Second place – Don Altmyer, Spearfish; score of 47
Third place – Corey Foneker, Spearfish; score of 49
Fourth place – Aaron Webster, Nashua, Mont.; score of 51
Fifth place – Aaron Nelson a mass communication major from Spearfish; score of 52
Sixth place – Andrew Harvey, Spearfish; score of 56
Seventh place – tie between David Harding, a mass communication major from Spearfish; and Cole Riley, Spearfish; score of 57
