The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University, with the 28th Force Support Squadron, Rapid City Chamber of Commerce, S.D. Army National Guard, and Army ROTC present “National Women’s History Month:  Celebrating Women of Character, Courage, and Commitment” in Rapid City Monday, March 17.  The event will be held at the University Center-Rapid City from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This event will feature speakers Colonel Susan Pietrykowski, United States Air Force; Chief Warrant Officer 5 Darla Crown, S.D. National Guard; and Dr. Kay Schallenkamp, President, Black Hills State University.  The one-day event will also feature breakout sessions and a networking lunch.

Each year, March is designated as National Women’s History Month.  Women’s History Month ensures that the history of American women will be recognized and celebrated throughout the country.  In concert with this year’s national theme, ‘Celebrating Women of Character, Courage, and Commitment,’ the event will honor the extraordinary and often unrecognized determination and tenacity of women.

“This event is designed to celebrate and honor women from many diverse backgrounds who have demonstrated their character, courage, and commitment as military personnel, health care professionals, educators, and business and community leaders.  Their lives and work inspire women to achieve their full potential and encourage everyone to respect the diversity and depth of women’s experiences.” says Helen Merriman, SD CEO director.

This event is sponsored in part by J.P. Duniphan and Jackie Nettleton of Mountain Movers Construction.

Register for the event prior to March 5 to receive the early Bird discount rate of $25.  Starting March 6, the price will be $35.  For more information or to register, contact the South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity at 605-642-6435 or visit www.BHSU.edu/SDCEO
