The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University is pleased to announce the appointment of two new board members.

The SD CEO is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization which works in partnership with the Small Business Administration (SBA) and Black Hills State University to help small businesses get started or grow.  The mission of the SD CEO is “to provide comprehensive training and business assistance, support and counseling for aspiring and established entrepreneurs to foster economic development in South Dakota.”

New members include:

Anne Taylor is the third generation owner and president of Dakota Business Center.  Taylor graduated from University of Arizona in 1990 and began working in the family-owned office products business in 1993 with the opening of the Pierre branch of Dakota Business Center with her husband, Carter.  She has served on the YMCA, and Rapid City’s Board of Directors since 2011 and is the current vice president.  She is also the current Board Treasurer for Advocates for Creative Theatre Students (ACTS).  Taylor was born and raised in Rapid City. The Taylors have two sons, Jack and Adam.

Sharon Hemmingson serves as the business services and contracts manager for the South Dakota Science and Technology Authority (SDSTA) at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead.  Prior to joining the SDSTA , Sharon worked for Black Hills State University for over 26 years as the director of Sponsored Programs, Student Support Services and the Student Assistance Center, and as a counselor for Upward Bound.  Hemmingson earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at BHSU and has been involved with the SD CEO since its inception.  Sharon and her husband, Todd, have two grown children, Tyler and Kaitlyn, who are both graduates of Spearfish High School and South Dakota State University.
