The Black Hills State University student business organization Enactus recently donated $360 toward the University’s Business Leadership Scholarship.
The money raised came from the organization’s Scholar Dollar 5K event held earlier this fall.
The initial funds for the scholarship came from the former BHSU chapter of Phi Beta Lambda. After the Phi Beta Lamba group disbanded, Verona Beguin, retired business faculty member and former advisor for Students In Free Enterprise (S.I.F.E) now Enactus, suggested the Enactus students take over the account and build upon the scholarship, according to Dr. Bobbi Looney, assistant professor of management and co-advisor for Enactus.
With the additional money from the race, the scholarship account is up to $5,000, halfway to the point where scholarships can begin to be awarded.
