Black Hills State University will be hosting a music camp for high school students to provide them with the knowledge needed to start a career in music under the guidance of the University’s music faculty.
The BHSU “So, You Want to be a Music Major” music camp, open to high school students who have completed ninth grade through college, is scheduled for Aug. 24.
Students will spend the day with BHSU music faculty to discover what it takes to start a career in music. Attendees will learn and review important topics critical to their success as an entering college music major. The camp will include topics such as, music fundamentals, computer notation and audio editing, and applied lessons on a major instrument or voice.
BHSU will be offering additional summer camps for middle and high school students on the following topics: business, art, drafting, history, science, photography, and creativity and critical thinking.
