The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University, in collaboration with Regional Health, will host a 5K/10K Run & Walk Saturday, June 16 in Spearfish. The run/walk will begin at 8 a.m. at the BHSU Lyle Hare Stadium, continue on the Spearfish Bike Path, and finish at the BHSU Lyle Hare Stadium. The 10K will start at the BHSU Lyle Hare Stadium, continue on the Spearfish bike path to Spearfish Canyon and also finish at the Lyle Hare Stadium. Event day registration will be from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
The early registration fee is $20 for the 5K or $30 for the 10K. There is also a family and friend’s rate of $40 for the 5K and $60 for the 10K, with a maximum of four family members and/or friends per group. Preregistration forms must be received by SD CEO by June 13. Event day registration will be $10 more than the early registration fees.
Race refreshments and door prizes will be provided. There will also be awards in the 5K and the 10K for the top three males, the top three females, and the top team in the 5K and 10K. All proceeds support the SD CEO. The SD CEO is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA), and is part of a network of more than 110 centers nationwide established through the SBA’s women’s business funding. While services are available to all those interested in entrepreneurship, there is a special emphasis on women, women veterans, Native Americans, the socially and/or economically disadvantaged, and youth entrepreneurs.
