Black Hills State University recently honored several individuals for their service and achievements at the annual Alumni Awards Luncheon held during Swarm Week. Those honored this year include (left to right): Darla J. (Talty) Crown, Special Achievement Award; Dr. Barry L. Jankord, Excellence in Education Award; George C. Rinker, Ph.D., Special Service Award; and Charles (Chuck) V. Sederstrom, Jr., Distinguished Alumnus Award. The Special Achievement Award is given to recognize particular achievements or contributions to the alum’s society or to their community. The Excellence in Education Award honors those alumni who have made outstanding contributions in the field of education. The Special Service Award is given to honor those alumni or other persons who have contributed long-term service or exceptional effort in a single program or project to the University. The Distinguished Alumni Award is based on long-term outstanding achievements and service or contributions to BHSU.
