Premier Bank/First Premier Bankcard has agreed to donate credit monitoring services for Black Hills State University students who were affected by a possible identity disclosure.
The Spearfish-based financial institution, which is a devoted supporter of BHSU, is offering 12 months of credit monitoring to the 56 BHSU students whose social security numbers were inadvertently placed on the website.
Steve Meeker, vice president for institutional advancement at BHSU, expressed his appreciation for Premier Bank/First Premier Bankcard’s generous offer.
“This is truly another unexpected Premier moment,” Meeker says. “Once again Premier has shown their dedication and support for the university by offering this important service to our students. “
Earlier this year, Premier Bank/First Premier Bankcard established the PREMIER BHSU Student Scholarship Program that offers $1,000 per year, up to $5,000 per student, for full-time BHSU students who also work at Premier Bankcard. This scholarship program, combined with a previous agreement by PREMIER Bankcard for student scholarships, amounts to more than $600,000 in donations for BHSU students over the next five years.
