The Black Hills State University Concert Band and Percussion Ensemble will present their annual spring concert Monday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the recital hall in Clare and Josef Meier Hall.
Conducting duties will be shared by Christopher Hahn, BHSU music instructor and director of the groups, and four students from the advanced conducting class. Student conductors are: Jonathan Aberle, junior instrumental major from Timber Lake; Amanda Samuelson, sophomore vocal music major from Faith; Amanda Scott, senior music major from Custer; and Kathryn Severns, senior vocal music major from Rapid City.
“It is great to see the students develop during the semester,” said Hahn. “Each student chose a piece and rehearsed it with the band. I think you can get a glimpse into the personality of the students by listening to the pieces they chose.”
The concert is open to the public at no charge. For more information, contact Hahn at 642-6888 or ChristopherHahn@bhsu.edu
