The Dakota Chamber Orchestra, in residence on the campus of Black Hills State University, will start rehearsals for the 2011 spring season Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.
Rehearsals will be held in the Band Room of Clare and Josef Meier Hall. The orchestra provides an outlet for area string players to come together, play music and improve their skills. The orchestra entertains the northern Black Hills with string orchestra music from many different musical style periods. The Orchestra’s Spring Concert is scheduled for Sunday, April 3 in Meier Recital Hall at 2:30 p.m.
All string players in the Spearfish area and BHSU students are encouraged to attend the first rehearsal. For additional information contact Dr. Randall Royer, conductor, at 642-6255 or at Randall.Royer@BHSU.edu.
