Under sunny skies and a prevailing wind, 28 disc golfers participated in the 14th annual Swarm Days Disc Golf tournament at the Black Hills State University campus disc golf course on Oct. 1.

In the student division, Matt Altmyer, a freshman from Spearfish, shot a six under par 48 to beat Jacob Ragels, a freshman from Rapid City by one stroke. The top scoring students were:

7. Aaron Webster-Gill, 53, Washua, Mont., Senior
8. Brian Jones, 53, Spearfish, Freshman

In the community division, Don Altmyer, Spearfish, shot a five under 49 to edge Andy Altmyer, Spearfish by one stroke. The top scoring community players were:

3. Matt Hill, 51, Spearfish
4. Josh Burr, 51, Spearfish

The last official disc golf tournament of the year will be the Octobertoss at Jackson Park in Rapid City on Saturday, Oct. 9. Walk up registration begins at 8 a.m. with the players meeting starting at 9 a.m.
