Ian Laber and Amanda Caster, hall directors at Black Hills State University, presented at the 2007 South Dakota College Personnel Association (SDCPA) conference recently.
Laber and Caster presented “May the Millennial Force be with you (using “millennialism” in the efforts to curb college drinking)”. Their presentation focused on how one university has used the millennial construct in its efforts to inform students of the dangers of drinking.
Several BHSU staff members attended the SDCPA conference. Shawnda Carmichael, director of career services, and Danielle Brady, coordinator of student support services, serve on the board of directors for the SDCPA.
SDCPA’s mission is to bring forward leadership issues and trends in higher education and professional programs to promote student development and learning. Sixteen colleges, universities and technical schools from across the state are members of this organization.
