Black Hills State University recently received a $3,000 donation from Wells Fargo-Spearfish. Steve Meeker, Vice President for University Advancement, accepted the gift from John Senden, Community Banking President for Wells Fargo and Dan Mueller, Retail Store Manager.

The donation will be used for two $1,000 business scholarships and one $1,000 education scholarship. “This act of generosity is proof of the strong relationship Black Hills State University has with the business community. I thank Wells Fargo for their support. These scholarship funds are so important as we continue to transform the lives of students,” said Meeker.

Senden says the donation is a way of supporting the University community. “At Wells Fargo, we believe we’re only as successful as the communities we serve, so we’re committed to providing the resources our communities and educational institutions need to grow and prosper,” said Senden.

Wells Fargo & Company invested $1.1 million in 278 nonprofits and schools throughout South Dakota last year. BHSU reached a record enrollment last fall and currently has nearly 4,100 students enrolled.
