Black Hills State University will offer an American Indian Studies class at Crazy Horse Memorial in July. The course, Lakota History, will be held July 6-9. The class meets from 1- 5 p.m. July 6, 7, and 8 and 1-4 p.m. on July 9.

Lakota History will examine the history of the Lakota people along with major historical events in Lakota history during the time period 1840-1890. The events and people will be studied, along with area Black Hills field trips. This class is worth 1 (one) credit semester hour.

Instructor Donovin Sprague, BHSU undergraduate and graduate instructor, historian, author, artist, and enrolled member of the Minnicoujou Lakota, will teach this class.
